    Why Deliberative Democracy

11 February 2023 — Dear UP Baguio Community, greetings from the Youth of Deliberative Democracy!

We would like to invite you to an online introductory lecture entitled: “Why Deliberative Democracy: Promoting Deliberations in Times of Democratic Turmoil” with Dr. Nicole Curato, a Professor of Political Sociology at the Centre for Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance at the University of Canberra. This event will be held via Zoom on February 18 at 10:00 AM PHT.

DD is a talk-based approach to democracy. It places importance on the people’s engagement in political life through conversations. It is therefore relevant in legitimate, informed, and reasonable political decisions.
