SSREI in Bokod

The Social Sciences Research and Extension Institute or SSREI  was in Bokod, Benguet on 25 October 2022 to facilitate the training on “Basic Facilitating Techniques” to the local non-government organizations (NGO) of Bokod. With Prof. Arellano Colongon, Jr., professor of Political Science and former dean, leading the training the SSREI team was able to provide an informative and interactive training to the NGOs of Bokod. The SSREI team comprised of Prof. Colongon, CSS Dean Leah Abayao, SSREI Chairperson Prof. Ben Atim, Prof. Herald Canoy and Prof. Karin Bangsoy, all faculty members of the College of Social Sciences. The team took advantage of the Reading and Wellness Break this semester to provide some service to our community.

The SSREI is the extension arm of the College of Social Sciences, UP Baguio, which began in 1992. The SSREI offers Social Sciences and Philosophy teaching and/or research training services, to educators, graduate students, and development workers from GOs and NGOs in the country. The Institute also offers lectures and seminars that is open to the public. One of these lectures is the series, “Local Sources on Philosophizing” which featured Philosophy professors, Prof. Vlademire Bumatay and Prof. Kelly Agra.
