13 March 2023 – ARE YOU READY TO MEET THE PEOPLE WHO WILL HELP US SHIFT GEARS?
Only less than a week before we shift dears! The Politically Inclined Students of UP Baguio (POLIS-UPB) would like to introduce you to the two speakers in our forum “Shifting Gears from Grey to Green: A Forum on Championing Green Politics in Baguio City.”
We will be joined by Arch. Donna Tabangin, a licensed Architect and Environmental Planner with 23 years of experience in the Applied Sciences as a Faculty of the School of Engineering and Architecture of Saint Louis University (SLU) in Baguio City. She finished her Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture at Saint Louis University and a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of the Philippines School of Urban and Regional Planning in UP Diliman. In July 2020, she became the City Planning and Development Coordinator of Baguio City, and she currently heads the office in charge of formulating development plans, comprehensive land use plans, project development and monitoring, urban master planning, and creative design for the city.
We will also be joined by Ma’am Esther Roxanne Bans-Veridiano, who has been a development worker for the last 35 years, working with more than 30 NGOs and has served the peasants, fishers, and indigenous peoples (IPs) of Northern Luzon championing the cause of climate change, human rights, and good governance. In 2019, she founded 7K Kalikasan Inc. and is currently the CEO of 7K – a group of natural and social scientists, teachers, artists, development practitioners, entrepreneurs, and students who are pushing for an ecosystems approach to address climate emergency – for Ridge to River to Reef Rehabilitation.
