CSS Freshie Orientation

We had a great turnout last Monday, 12 September 2022, during our CSS Freshie Orientation!

New students in the BA Social Sciences and BS Management Economics programs made an effort to virtually come together and meet some of the college’s faculty and staff. Part of the attendance were Dean Leah Abayao, College Secretary Cecilia San Luis, the department heads: Prof. Gladys Cruz of the Department of Economics and Political Science, Prof. Maria Ana Diaz of the Department of Anthropology, Sociology, and Psychology, Prof. Ma. Nela Florendo of the Department of History and Philosophy; Institute of Management Director, Prof. Santos Jose Dacanay III, and the USC-CSS Representatives, among others.

The current pandemic has made it impossible for the CSS to welcome their new freshmen physically, but through the orientation via Zoom welcomed more than 200 students majoring in various disciplines in the BA Social Sciences program and in the BS Management Economics program. The College faculty and the USC Representatives made it possible to provide a warm welcome to our new students despite its online setting.

Some of the things that were discussed during the CSS Freshie Orientation were basic information every student of UP Baguio and CSS should know, the Hybrid Learning Modality for the AY 2022-2023, and concerns regarding enrollment and shifting.

Although not all questions or concerns were addressed, the College emails and social media pages are ready to take in queries!

Once again, for our new Iskolar ng Bayan, welcome to UP Baguio and welcome to the College of Social Sciences! We hope to see you around very soon!
