3 February 2023 — The College of Social Sciences presents the Indigenous Studies Lecture series featuring Prof. Oona Paredes. The CSS has an exciting week in store for our students once they come to campus for face-to-face classes. One of these events is the Indigenous Studies Lecture Series which was kickstarted by Prof. Carolyn Produchny‘s lecture on Indigenous Studies and Activism. The lecture was delivered as part of the inaugural event when the PhD Indigenous Studies program started accepting its first students. Prof. Produchny was a visiting professor for the program and gave the welcoming speech.
Following Prof. Produchny’s lecture was another visiting professor, Dr. Alberto Gomes who delivered “Indigenous-Inspired Peace Ecology”.
In the spirit and tradition of enhancing indigenous studies, the social sciences and interdisciplinarity, the CSS has invited Prof. Oona Paredes, of the University of California Los Angeles and author of the renowned A Mountain of Difference to deliver a lecture in the College of Social Sciences, University of the Philippines Baguio.
