Hiring Notice for the Philosophy Discipline
The College of Social Sciences is releasing a hiring notice for the Philosophy Discipline. All qualified individuals are welcome to apply for a full-time or part-time teaching position.
The qualifications for all applicants are as follows:
- Applicant must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy
- He/She/They must also preferably possess a Master’s degree
- Applicant must have experience in teaching philosophy courses, particularly Ethics at the tertiary level
- Applicant must be available for face-to-face classes and activities in UP Baguio.
All that must be done is to send in the requirements to the Chairperson of the Department of History and Philosophy at philodhph.css.upb@gmail.com . The applicant must send an application letter, a copy of their curriculum vitae, and a copy of their transcript of records.
Deadline of submissions are on 10 November 2022, at 5:00 pm PHT.

Philosophy in the CSS
Philosophy inquires into fundamental questions about the world, knowledge, and the human condition. The program provides basic proficiency in the history of philosophy and the main areas of philosophical inquiry, as well as skills and competencies necessary for philosophical research. Its mode of philosophizing mediates local experiences and sources with universal thinking and is in dialogue with the natural and social sciences, the humanities and the arts.
Students in Philosophy will be able to explain the various ways in which the fundamental questions about the world, knowledge and the human condition have been formulated and investigated in the history of philosophy, and in the main areas of philosophical inquiries, appraise pertinent literature in the history of philosophy and the main areas of philosophical inquiry, and exhibit the values of civil argumentation and charitable thinking among others.
